Guest Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 Chatrace. if your one loft race is over do you takes one-loft-race birds back to the owners or sells on the auctions?
Chatrace Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 In the Past I have kept the remaining birds. Some are in my breeding program , Some were raced out as OBs and after that they were stocked or culled if not wanted by local flyers
Guest Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 chat, The Help a Beginner programme can always give good homes to good birds that aren't wanted back by their breeders.
Chatrace Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 Great Idea Linda, the birds would get good homes and they arn't really culls, they would have raced over 1700 miles and made it back. Slug the cost is $30 a bird or 4 for $100. limit of 4 birds per Flyer if you go to the site I posted the 2nd time it has all the Info http://hometown.aol.com/chatrace2001/Extrapage.html#

Guest Posted December 14, 2005 Report Posted December 14, 2005 Do you know what is the website Bejling one loft race please?
Blue Chequer Posted December 24, 2005 Report Posted December 24, 2005 The RPRA race is £100 per bird with the first £50 needed straight away to reserve your place. Last year me and a few mates entered seven and finished up with 2 going to the last race. Losses were unbelievable, if someone had told me that over 600 of the original 800 would be lost I would not have believed it possible. I went to see the birds return from one of the Hot Spot races (I think it was about 120miles) most of them sat on the loft top and when they went in they were gagging for a drink. The web-site was not updated very quickly last year, hopefully things will improve this time. Bilco said he wouldn't have a go because of all the hawks on the route, I don't think the hawks had that many. Despite all this I think we will be having a go again in 2006.
carl Posted December 24, 2005 Report Posted December 24, 2005 Yes thinking of sending a bird or two to the rpra one loft race next year 2006.Im trying to get a few others from our club to form a sindicate there two of us up to now and im sure others will get involved.
