peter edwards Posted June 19, 2006 Report Posted June 19, 2006 jordanp31,yes they could take 2 the nest bowl My self get rid of stray, take it down the road or report, keep it a nest box or put in to a basket, make sure it can get to a drinker, all the best PETER
jordanp31 Posted June 19, 2006 Author Report Posted June 19, 2006 The cock has no rings on it or rubbers... It is a really nice looking bird. I will not be able to get rid of it because i have had him bout a month and i havent managed to pair him up.
Peckedhen Posted June 19, 2006 Report Posted June 19, 2006 I had this happen. I put the egg in, a bowl, in the nest box and made sure the hen was locked in the nestbox when the second egg was due (they miss a day and then lay in the afternoon of the next day). She laid the second egg in the bowl and hatched both no problem.
jordanp31 Posted June 19, 2006 Author Report Posted June 19, 2006 thanks for all the advice...i havent moved my birds out of my old loft yet so i havent got any nest boxes free. I have just put the bowl on the floor so do you think it will be ok...
jimmy white Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 yes i think the hen will lay the second egg in the bowl, if its in the exact place it layed the first one
