the type of markings on the bird in the picture is called "gazzi"  not 100% sure of the colour though.

here is the national modena club's secretary  email contact.

thanks i understand they are not the nicest of birds to handle

 

They can be very aggressive,can make a real mess of your hand if you go in the nests

Kings look similar but a lot larger than modenas, I don't think they are as aggressive :-/

They are still only pigeons though and there is a limit to how much damage they can do,they are just abit bigger and stronger and slightly more territorial than some other breeds

my kings were a nightmare mate. took over the shed and wanted to fight everything.imo its best to keep just that breed together in the one shed.if you put them in with a smaller lighter breed they are terrible bullies.

 

very tame birds with the fancier though .

Yes we had the same trouble with the runts till the picked on an Indian fantail cross half their size and he soon put them back in their place ;D

definetely a gazzi modena ( poss, sulphur laced ) or ochre ..,

they are fine in a section just containing modenas ,have had them & reeked havoc

now history....some modena fanciers use single breeding pens for each pair ..( nice if got space )........
