Guest CS Posted August 8, 2006 Report Posted August 8, 2006 Would you just keep trains your Young birds if you not bothered about sending them to the Young birds race or would better to send them to the yb races?
Guest Posted August 8, 2006 Report Posted August 8, 2006 iF YOU NEVER SEND THEM TO THE RACES cRAIG, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SEE IF YOUR PAIRINGS ARE WORKING OUT. Train em hard and race em hard.
Guest CS Posted August 8, 2006 Report Posted August 8, 2006 Thanks, Linda.. Is it ok for me to send ybs for 120 miles in 2 weeks (first race for me) ?..if i keep train them a lot next week? Linda
jimmy white Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 cs ,, can see your tyres red hot by next week ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D with that new car hope you get a good one
Guest Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 Train them Monday Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday and make sure they have at least 200 miles on the wing. Loft fly them Friday morning if you can and don't feed too heavy for a 100 mile race. Good Luck
speedbird Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 think its always best to give them as much racing experience as possible maybe stoping some if you need them for next yeariwould always get them to at least 140miles before stoping any & if they are coming well with a bit of luck winning then keep em going

schouwman71 Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 Dont need to race them as young birds to make them into good old birds, train them steady on your own line and just let them have a good moult, personally if i hadnt sent them upto now,i would put them into racing now especially with a lot of youngsters missing every week, get them as far as you can graig by yourself and educate them your way,and thats to get home on line.
speedbird Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 its ok not racing ybs but i do think its important to get them to at least 140miles by training which is ok if you know someone who can take em!!

Guest Paulo Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 Remember "train hard, fight easy.'' Twice a days training for young uns as they get more advanced start chucking them up in two's and threes to race each other home. It seperates the champs from the chumps. Some people seem to just train them hard and not race them as young birds and send them as yearlings and clean up. Might be better just training them for next year rather than throwing them into racing without a decent training programme.
