Has ever occurred to you that someone may have got the bird in all flown out and gave it corn and water, cared for it until it was fit enough to make its own way home Don't be to quick to jump to conclusions as there are people out there that do care about getting strays home.

agree with dougie, but then again i would be hypocritical to say that a few of my youngsters have come back this yr lost from training, come back during the racing season with rubbers on,and in beautiful condition! Some people do try n race strays that aint transfered over to them its amazing, they dont get caught out,or if they do we dont hear about it in the books

Because i have rolers and i live on a line that a lot of racing pigeons fly on, i have a lot of strays come into my loft with the rolers. About a month ago i went down to feed my birds and i noticed a racer sat on its own in the corner with i ring on. I am pretty sure when i called my birds in the day before it must of come in with them. Any way the bird was really thin and could hardly walk so i fed it and let it go after about 3 weeks. It never came back to me again so i presume it got back to its home ok. I no alot of people who feed strays and then send them on their way so no body should guess that people are trying to break their birds in when some people do try and help other fanciers

thats very decent of you  jordan m8 , but i had 2 birds  over 6 races come back with rings cut of, and another with some of his flights pulled ,  also i had a lady tell me that she had seen a man with a box throwing bread and seeds down trying to catch 2 racers ,the man is a non fancier , so i am afraid there are some ass----s out there .

I can understand how you feel westy. My mate had 2 nest pairs pinched last year and he found them in a lads loft about 100 yards down the road. The lad who pinched them has been raiding others lofts around my area. When ever  a loft is raided by my mates area this lads loft is always the suspect of where the birds are...

Maybe if you are returning a stray bird you have taken care of you could slip a small piece of paper with your telephone number written on down inside the ring.
