schyphos Posted September 29, 2006 Report Posted September 29, 2006 Hi, i have just finished my first season racing and thought long and hard about what strain of bird to buy.i settled on Soontjens,Van reets,Vandenabeeles and Jansens. They have all raced well up to 200mls winning 6 firsts and on the last race, winning 1st & 2nd Fed from 71mls after losing 3 minutes on trappins. You must do your homework though,to find the best winning lines of your chosen strain.Regarding food i fed diet 200 on Sun & Mon.50/50 Diet 200/Gerry plus on Tues.100% Gerry plus on Weds (11/4oz/bird)On Thurs 80% Gerry Plus 15% Red Maize 5%mix of Hemp/Peanuts.I put in 2 oz/bird and remove whats left after 1 hour.On Friday i feed 1oz/bird diet 200 between 9-10am.Come basketing time they look and feel well.Best of luck. p.s i also have a water programme let me know if you want that too.
