A friend of mine has just bought a loft and pigeons, included were some nice looking Dk Cheq's which are apparently Scotch kings? All he knows about them is they are long distance birds, due to the fact  the owner had died and he bought the loft and birds of his son and thats all he could tell him. I was wondering if any of you knowledgeable members here could throw any light on the subject for him as he would like to find out a little about the origin Etc. of the birds he now has. Any info would be greatfully recieved and passed on to him. Many thanks in anticipation, Mark.

Hi,superstar,i dont know if this helps but a pigeon called "SCOTCH KING"won 1st open snfc.rennes 545 miles. for a Mr. Matt White of Paisley. this pigeon also was 3rd.& 9th open snfc in subsequent Rennes races. he also had a pigeon called "SCOTCH QUEEN". 1st open rennes snfc. 1980.

Mr. White was an exponent of long distance pigeon racing& regularly timed from Palamos,Mirande ,Rochefort & San Sebastian all between 700-1,000 miles into Scotland.

He also had a family of barless blues & mealies.

hope this helps & may be the link your looking for. billy

Thank you very much for that Billy, sounds about right to me and I will pass this info on to him tomorrow. I know the son told him they were terific distance birds for his father but didnt know too much other than one of them won the same race from france (not sure of the race point) 5 times in a row. Once again thank you for your info Billy, it will be well appreciated and give him a lead as to what to research. All the best, Mark.
