Guest Paulo Posted October 27, 2006 Report Posted October 27, 2006 There is a major sale being planned for the above. Sunday 26th November 2006 Shotton Comrades Club, Shotton Coll, Peterlee They are in the same club I am joining and used to fly in Ushaw Moor club when my dad was flying. Really good flyers prob the top men in the club at this point in time. Got good West Durham Amal results and did well in the NEHU Futurity race. They prob would do even better in Durham Combine as our location does not exactly do anybody any favours when flying against people in the WDA. They are having to sell a lot of their birds due to being kicked off the same allotments that I was on and have just got booted off because the land belongs to the Catholic church and they want to develop it. Birds for sale will include:- 2x 1st WDA (very strong Amal to fly in) 1x 2nd WDA winner 2x 3rd WDA winner WDA Sprint champion Many first fed winners NEHU Futurity Birds winning 7th & 8th Complete old bird team Complete young bird team This year their results are:- 14x 1sts club 8x 1sts fed 1st, 3rd and 96th WDA 2006 They also bred the 1st Durham Combine winner in 2006 - the dam will be in sale The birds will win from 78 - 560 miles Haswell Auctions will be conducting the sale 0191 5844988, 07831 364090. Shame really people of this level having to pack in for a bit. No doubt some people will be happy as it lowers the level of competion but personally I'd rather they kept on going just so it inspires you to raise your game and beat them. Before anybody asks I can't vouch for what their birds will do as I have never had any off them my dad used to hold his own against them and Nelsons mentor Curry and Young when he flew against them. I will say however that their performences speak for themselves and that if I didn't have birds lined up all ready off people I might be tempted to give them a go. Get yourselves along and you might just get a bargin. Plus they will be selling the cream as the pressure is on to get off the allotments before the church come in with their bulldozers. I'm just glad I relocated when I had the chance. All the pigeon guys tried to fight but it was pretty much a cut and tried case legally so they had no chance of winning. Shame really as up here allotments are one of the only places you can keep pigeons all of the tradtional ways of life seem to be dying out.
