wot i bought ....europa 1 loft race sale

hi all, havent long got back from the europa 1 loft race,there was around 80 something birds for sale.

i came back with 12 birds for £375....from some decent flyers...including a grandchild from tony mardon birds. ie rothschild out of radar.

also a bird bred from out of a national winner ..  a clubmate and friend of mine john smale ...winner of 2 cars and countless positions in the welsh nationals (who i will be putting some of his birds up on this site in the very near future...dont miss them)for him.

so far im pleased with wot i bought, but did miss some birds i should have gone that litle extra for.....theres another sale tomorrow at barry...i may be going there ...i was only after some sprint birds but did buy 1 or 2 middle-distance birds....paul.

you must have got some good birds there as if fanciers are paying to enter these races they only send their best

i think the dearest bird was £150

they all started at £30 each...some birds went very cheap for wot they were bred from. but i think they will be a bit dearer tomorrow at barry ..the next 1 loft sale.

i think tony cowan was the auctioneer.

there were 1 or 2 birds that looked outstanding...i had a mealy cock that looks and feels the part ...only time will tell wot he,s like .

i had him for £55...a snip wot he,d be advertised for in the bhw .and i dont have to pay carriage on top !....i thought the handling of birds bein transferred to boxes was a bit rough mind.
