Guest Hjaltland Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 I am researching the use of homing pigeons by herring driftnet fishermen, prior to the use of radio communications. Apparently pigeons were used to relay information of catches back to buyers waiting ashore, so prices could be 'adjusted' to exploit poor , or good, catches. If anyone has heard of this I would be interested to hear your stories. I assume the buyers might have had a financial interest in particular boats...
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 THINK A LOT OF FOLK WOULD BE INTERESTED TO HEAR SUCH STORIES
