Guest CS Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 Pigeon racing as a hobby is facing a bit of a crisis in the UK. "The Royal Pigeon Racing Association announced it has lost £50,000 in the past 12 months. "The crisis was sparked by the Government’s ban from August on racing the birds overseas due to fears the pigeons would become infected abroad." schouwman71 Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 doesnt sound good,we will just have to keep our chins up,but its also because theres a lot leaving the sport and less joining,so its loosing through membership aswell.
Guest Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 makes you laugh though the way the press word things.
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 With the amount of members that the rpra has it is really nothing to worry about, £50,000 / 40,000 members = £1.25 per member.
pault Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 The money m&d evans made says to me that the sport is not dieing it is just changing may be for the better or not . who knows time will decide as well as the members of the r.p.r.a and other organistions. :-/
