stevebelbin Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 This year Im going to jab mine 5 weeks b4 pairing, then multi-vits for a week. Then 3 weeks b4 pairing treat for worms with moxidectin for 2 days and again mulit-vits for a week. Then when there sitting treat them for canker with turbosole for 7 days and back on the multivits. Have never seen the need to treat for cocci as my loft is bone dry and any water spillage is limited.
blackjack Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 Jabs in feb worm late feb pair last week of march.
jimmy white Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 ive never been one for treating birds much , but after talking to vet today he said it was wise to treat for worms cocci every couple of months ,, he also said that pigeon fanciers are abusing antibiotics and dont know the damage they are doing ,, he said it must be a good avian vet to prescribe these
Guest anthony Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 ive never been one for treating birds much , but after talking to vet today he said it was wise to treat for worms cocci every couple of months ,, he also said that pigeon fanciers are abusing antibiotics and dont know the damage they are doing ,, he said it must be a good avian vet to prescribe these I think he was right Jimmy, listening to fanciers at the clubhouse you will conclude that antibiotics are being abused. The question is whom to belive?sometimes you read that you have to give on prescription, than you hear that once a week is a must after a race,(and this has been going for long)Now they teach that this is the worst thing to do!!!
