BEJA - CAPITAL Of the NATIONAL COLUMBÓFILIA Becomes fullfilled in days 11 the 14 of January of 2007, in the capital of the Low Alentejo, an initiative that will go to put into motion the community all columbófila of the Country! The Park of Fairs and Expositions, in Beja, will be palco previligiado that it will receive the greater and expressivo event columbófilo (XXXIV the National Exposition of Columbófilia). In this event the pigeons that will go to represent Portugal, in the Olímpiadas Columbófilas, that if carries through in days 26, 27 and 28 of January of 2007, in Ostende will be seleccionados, in Belgium. According to António Simão (President of the Columbófila Association of the District of Beja), it is foreseen presence of about 400 pigeons, representative of the most diverse districts of the Country, or either, the "cream" - the elite of the Portuguese Columbófilia, will go to be represented in Beja.
