Greywings Posted June 17, 2009 Report Posted June 17, 2009 I'm a little confused. I'm new to the whole pigeon thing and I'm just researching different breeds etc. I've heard rumours that rollers/tumbler pigeons sometimes roll and crash into the ground. Is this true? If so, does anyone know why? Also, what is it that gives these birds the ablilty to move like this? x
blaz Posted June 17, 2009 Report Posted June 17, 2009 yes this does happen to tumblers as i had one many years ago that did it. when the bird starts to tumble her neck muscle is not strong enough for the bird to right its self out of the tumble so their for hits the ground or roof or car as i have seen all 3 .i think the problem is in inbreeding to much .this is just my view on it
Guest HighSpeedLofts Posted June 17, 2009 Report Posted June 17, 2009 i think its the speed they tumble at they black out maybe not but what exactly causes them to tumble
Glassfeather Posted June 17, 2009 Report Posted June 17, 2009 There are discussions about "rolldowns" at the Birmingham Roller Forum: http://www.roller-pigeon.com/Roller_Discussion.html
