I have always been taught one of the basic rules in pigeons is you must keep their feet clean... I have folowed this rule for the past 3 years that i have had pigeons. But when my squakers come out of the bowl they always have hard lumps of muck on their feet which i struggle to clean off. I dont want to touch the squeaks in the bowl to much E.G for cleaning the bowl out... :-/

does anyone else have this problem...is their anyway to keep their feet clean when they have just left the bowl. ??)

From about 5 days old I actually give the nests a quick clean out, change the soiled litter daily especially as they get past 12 days old as they get filthy.I know alot of people say you risk the parents abandoning the nest but I think aslong as you are calm and quick mine don't bother [could just be used to it].I can't see the point of cleaning your loft daily and then having the squabs sat in poo.....just the way I do things personally

u must be using bowls that are to big ,most squeakers crap over the side not in the bowl ,use tabacco stalks or twiggs and fill the bowl right to the top shouild cure ya problem ;D ;D ;D
