Wiley Posted June 12, 2007 Report Posted June 12, 2007 everyone thinks they are experts on pigeons, everyone is an expert in there own mind but its the entire opposite! No one can be an expert unless they know 100% anything and everything about pigeons. I for one cannot say i do as i learn something new everyday from those interesting creatures. No matter what you do you will never know if you look after them right, feed them right, train them well enough, as every fancier has different theorys you may say one thing and someone else will say another. If you stick to one thing and have patience, and find out your mistakes along the way, you will soon discover a formula for success. But isnt it funny no luck is involved, if luck was the case you wouldnt have fanciers being at top of there game for 20 yrs
madmaxlofts Posted June 12, 2007 Report Posted June 12, 2007 i think you could have the best pigeons in the world but without routine, getting the feed right, keeping them clean ov anything, having the right system and dedication youll always be behind
Guest shadow Posted June 12, 2007 Report Posted June 12, 2007 i think you could have the best pigeons in the world but without routine, getting the feed right, keeping them clean ov anything, having the right system and dedication youll always be behind must agree find a system that suits YOU and the birds feed then right and do not keep chopping and changing during the season even if you think you could do better pigeons HATE change. If things do not work out try and find a strain of pigeon that will work to your system
Mike Lycett Posted June 12, 2007 Report Posted June 12, 2007 Barlbylofts... The thing is the same guy can't be consistently lucky week in week out year in year out. Those who excel consistently are fine fanciers & good stockmen. 2Stockmanship" cannot be acquired - it's bred in you
Guest Vic Posted June 12, 2007 Report Posted June 12, 2007 Stockmanship? environment development? experience? good coaching? call it what you want! But sometimes. the ball doesn't roll for you. If time is against you, and you race individually, the so called "magic touch" can soon be lost. Perhaps old age is a part of it, I, for instance, aint as smart as Brisol paint theses days, and many of us are in the same boat together. But it's been a great game, I still enjoy every minute, although I'm starting to forget one or two. Good luck to all the crew on basics, May you sail the storms, that I have done in the past, but I find them more harder to cope with, as time goes by. Cheers, Vic.

Guest speckled Posted June 13, 2007 Report Posted June 13, 2007 but at the end of the day peeps, :-/ it a sysytem ya wont to race " weather it be short to middle ya get the birds hopefully do that distance, :-/ weather ya wont middle to long ya get the bird hopefuly to do that distance.it depends on what syestem ya wont to fly, then ya find breeding feeding system.that suits ya kind birds ya wont to race & ya will after "OK" take a few years to get a proper family of birds together, but like any sport its what ya put in what ya get put lol \speck :-/
