AigleAwirs Posted June 15, 2007 Report Posted June 15, 2007 Hello, I will see the release from Huy. Do you know how many pigeons will fly this national? Thanks Laurent
Guest Posted June 15, 2007 Report Posted June 15, 2007 hi ,no one can say yet how many will be released, this is the 1st time the welsh are at this racepoint (instead of liege)381mls to me. but the welsh southeast combine is building in numbers each year. our fed alone averages 6-7000 birds most weeks. basketing was lastnight for this race, to be liberated saturday...paul
Guest Posted June 15, 2007 Report Posted June 15, 2007 Paul what are the distance race points left and what distances are they. I was talking to some of the lads form other clubs in Devon last week, about Devon & Cornwall getting back together a sa strong combine and flying east - west from Strasbourg, Luxembourg, etc (we fly east - west inland), be interested to know your route.
Guest Posted June 15, 2007 Report Posted June 15, 2007 Hi we fly south east on the land and the channel and fly with the Welsh South East National. Huy to me is 411 miles then there is Bonn which is about 480 miles the Gissen which is 560 miles. It is a difficult route to fly, many south road flyers have tried it and failed. It takes a different kind of pigeon. I have 8 away this weekend , take a look at the national website http://www.welsh-south-east-national.piczo.com
Guest Posted June 15, 2007 Report Posted June 15, 2007 Yes Geraint i remember back in the 70's there was a small fed in South Wales that used to go out to Germany and i well remember reading particularly in the Gazette of some fantastic performances put up by the Cornish lads. Yes I think it is probably the toughest route of all because you are nearly always flying in to a headwind and there's a fair expanse across the north sea depending on where they cross
Guest Posted June 15, 2007 Report Posted June 15, 2007 bonn is 450mls to me....giessen i think is 520mls.
