mobster Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 i have a problem when i let my birds fly for their morning exercise, when they come back they hardly stays on the roof and not going straight to their lofts. their feeds are already inside the loft and im tired of whistling them to come in. they just stays at the top of the roof. is there any way i can avoid them staying there. i just want them to go straight inside the loft when they fly back. gary
Chatrace Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 Cut the feed back, they will learn to be first in if they want to eat, the other birds eat to much if you have it all in. so only put 1/2 the daily amount in to start,if they all go in add the rest.
westy Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 yes cut the food back i had the same problam but now when i want them in they will come in because i cut the food back always have food on ya so when are messing about just throw some in the loft and they will be strait in.
Guest Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 This is going to sound daft, but I like to see my YBs sat on the roof for a month or two, as they get a good look around at the area, then after this time I cut the food right down and throw a tennis ball at them if they sit on the roof, and they soon learn to land on the loft trap and come straight in.

jimmy white Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 KEEP A CATAPULT AND FIRE CHOPPED UP POTATOES AT THEM ON THE ROOF , IT WONT DAMAGE THE ROOF AND DONT MAKE A NOISE [iF ITS A NEIGHBOURS ROOF,] WHEN THEY LAND ON THE LOFT, REWARD THEM WITH A HANDFULL OF CONDITION SEED
THE FIFER Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 KEEP THEM HUNGRY UNTIL THEY LEARN TO TRAP, IF U GET THE ODD LATE TRAPPER THEY DON'T GET FED, SO WILL SOON LEARN IF THEY ARE LAST IN THE FOOD IS GONE,
