mobster Posted February 18, 2006 Report Posted February 18, 2006 does the position of the loft affects the performance of the pigeon when racing? what is the good position of the loft.. facing south, or north?
Guest jason Posted February 18, 2006 Report Posted February 18, 2006 don't think it really matters, mine faces west and my neighbours faces east so they face each other and we haven't had any problems.

Guest jason Posted February 18, 2006 Report Posted February 18, 2006 Gez I have had a few 'teething' troubles with my loft facing west the biggest problem was keeping the weather out but its all sorted now and i'm all ready to race and can't wait for the season to start! ;D

They winds don't come from that direstion much and helps keep the drafts from blowing in windows and doors, it aqlso lets the birds watch the sun and be out in it most of the year; Our weather is mostly from the NW. That would be how I picked the direction.

Guest Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 My Widow loft faces west and my birds didnt come into form until mid season last year, I think its was because of all of the afternoon sun you get at that time of year. My Yb loft faces east and only got the sun in the morning, so Ive put a window in the south wall to get the sun all day.
