How should I feed a 1 month old Pigeon ?

I have a 1 month old Pigeon that was being attacked by the

other Pigeons in the coop, I do not know which one the mother

is , and the rest of the pigeons are trying to peck it to death,

I recently lost another one the same way. The next time I let

any eggs hatch I will be sure to let this happen in a controlled

section or in a different coop.

I been hand feeding the Pigeon about 1/2 teaspoon of seeds

a day. I am not sure how much water I should give to the

pigeon. I been using an eye dropper, but the Pigeon seems not

to like getting fed water.

Any suggestions how to care and feed a one month old baby

Pigeon ? Also how long before I can let it go back to the coop?

Thanks Jason.

well if the baby is a month old it should be eating and drinking by itself by now!most baby pigeons are weaned about 21 days old,if it isnt drinking by itself yet,dip its head in where your water source for the bird is.also young pigeons should neva be scarce of food specially in early development like this pigeon a ounce of good protein based food will support it readily enough. If the pigeon can get up on the perches then it should be back as it will be able to get away from those attacking it

Thanks for the advise , I just filled a small measuring spoon up

with water and held it to the Pigeon and he drank it all up, which

is much better than feeding him with a eye dropper. He seems to

try eating his feed on his own but they just fall out of his mouth,

I been hand feeding him seeds for the past 4 days. I also

noticed his belly is not as full as it was when I brought him in

from the coop. I just want to make sure he gets enough food, I

am sure he will be ok and in a couple weeks I will let him in a

coop so he will be away from the other Pigeons.

His brother must of gotten out and fell upon other Pigeon space

and I found him dead, I just dont want to take any chance with

this one.

Thanks Jason

I've just hand reared one of my baby logans from a couple of weeks old!  She is now 8 weeks old and doing really well!  I just sat her on my lap with and old sheet over my lap, and just open her beak and give her small bits of corn, and I did this, till her crop felt full.  As for drinking I give her full fat milk mixed with tap water, in a dish, and placed her beak in it, and she did the rest herself. it seems to have done the trick!  She's now eating without my help now :)  The only prob I have with her now, is that she thinks she's a human rather then a pigeon!! as she is following me around everywhere! lol;D  Good Luck.
