If something like salmonella was a common problem in pigeons then I would be looking to the environment and conditions they are housed in. The thread is about 'Products' but not one post has mentioned anything about the use of any products outside the pigeon to keep its home environment healthy.

I've maintained for a long time that this is one safe way to prevent disease / spread and it works by interrupting the organisms natural life cycle. Organisms can survive without oxygen but nothing can exist without water. So even a light dusting of any of the disinfectant floor coverings will kill everything, microbes, eggs & insects by drying them out. No microbes, eggs & insects on the floor, perches or boxes, no cross-infection can occur therefore there is never a second generation to get 'back' into the pigeons to re-infect the loft. So you are in effect keeping the birds internal environment healthy too.

I have deep litter, made up of various stuff added down thro years: Stalosan, and more recently calcium carbonate [crushed limestone] and Harkers Loft Treatment. Dried droppings from perches, boxes and floor are raked up, riddled, bagged and binned every couple of days.
