Guest TAMMY_1 Posted August 28, 2007 Report Posted August 28, 2007 if you want to join it normaly have to send a letter to say you wish to join. well all the clubs i joined before has been that way no problem , was only asking, how much does it cost to join a club such as this ?
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted August 29, 2007 Report Posted August 29, 2007 £10 a yearly membership Thats very steep is it not, ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted August 29, 2007 Report Posted August 29, 2007 £10 a yearly membership what do you actually get for your £10 ? I mean will this be enough to cover the cost of trophies and rosettes and suchlike? Also do you think this will be a large show you are going to have because it will need to be pretty big for it to be affiliated with the NPA, for them to take an interest otherwise they will not take anything to do with it, because they will not award their prestigious NPA certificates at any minor show? I f it is only a minor show you will not get NPA listed judges as any body can judge at minor shows, you only get NPA listed judges at the important shows, have u contacted your local defra office yet to enquire how to obtain a license? what type of classes do you intend to have at the show you will be organising or is this a bit early to be asking about that ? just really interested in how you are going to going about it all because i have to organize our club show once a year and even though it is only a small show with about 100 or so birds it still takes a lot of sorting out and the more birds and entrants you are going to have means a lot more work
klinkley Posted August 29, 2007 Report Posted August 29, 2007 Any fancy club can affiliate with the NPA, it just means you will be running the show to their ruling. To be able to award NPA certificates, the club has to seek championship show status from the NPA. The club sec has to write to the sec of the NPA and the request will be put forward to the NPA Management Committee at their next meeting, the date of the show will also be considered so that it doesn't clash with another champ show locally. You can have NPA listed judges at minor shows, I'm on the NPA judges list for two fancy breeds and I will judge at Champ shows, club shows or open shows, it's entirely up to the judge. At a champ show, if there is a class which does not have a judge from the judges list, he/she is able to judge the birds, but unable to award NPA certs. I have been sec for fancy clubs for twelve years and have organised championship shows catering for 800 birds. The two clubs I am sec of at the moment are not affiliated to the NPA. The flying breeds club is affiliated to the National Federation Of Tipplers and Tumblers and the show racer club is affiliated to nobody. We issue our own certificates and create our own champions within the club. To join either club it will cost £10 for the first year then £5.00 per year after that. Is your club a new club, or is it already in exsistence? What date is the show being held on?

Do you intend to have it as a multi-breed fancy club? Have you considered advertising what you want to do in the Feathered World? It will cost you nothing, just the price of a stamp. It's worth a try. When we founded the show racer club, there were just the four uf us. Now there are around a dozen members, and that is in a space of four years. Show reports are always sent into Feathered World, with photos. We have had some of our show reports in Homing World too, and have gained a few members that way. Good luck to you, I hope you manage to get things up and running.
