is it possible to take the eggs away from a pair after she lays the second one and hold them for about 5 or 6 days and put them back?  would they go back to them?

You would need to put pot eggs under the pair to keep them sitting;

 

The real eggs would also need to be stilled for that time, kept at room temperature and turned once per day.

 

Birds should sit for up to one week overdue....

yes, as long as the eggs are turned regular ,,,and they havent started incubating

providing you keep them sitting on dummies
