Guest Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 i found out tonite , that the welsh north road birds are going to lilliers with the rhondda valley fed ,i find this disgracefull. considering also we have to transport our own birds to the national marking station in newport which is 24mls away, instead of our own geraldy lorries which we all was levied for, picking our birds up at the clubhouse.naturally we would have to take them there if flying the nationals but its unfair on the ones that dont race nationals.why would our fed after paying out a mega big amount of money on these lorries, think we would find it ok to have our birds carried over to france in a vehicle that we moved on from, while ours is a upto date state of the art geraldy lorry...just another unbelievable move on the part of our fed.....paul.

Guest Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 yea it is tammy m8,but they have the old lorry while we have a brand new geraldy lorry which has no comparrison if thinking about the facilities our lorry has.,and we are a bigger fed.the fed levied us all £25 each and also they raised weekly birdage a quid.to pay for more aluminium baskets....paul

Guest Posted September 15, 2007 Report Posted September 15, 2007 are the national going to Lillers now???
chichichi Posted September 15, 2007 Report Posted September 15, 2007 paul ,, birds escaped from the geraldy last week,,maybe this had some influence....I have heard this isn't the first time,,,new transporter and the only one where the birds are escaping.....also I have heard that the race might be off...this is only rumours.....
deanbruton Posted September 15, 2007 Report Posted September 15, 2007 hi anthony it happens on all transporters but sometimes never reported just look at your own from maidstone old birds the birds were released 4 mins in front of anything else which is fact but never reported just look at past pm on this site. Not just 10 birds but the whole transporter and we call this a combine race not sour grapes but something is going wrong.
Guest Posted September 15, 2007 Report Posted September 15, 2007 hiya dean m8..wot was the winning time up with u m8?...paul
deanbruton Posted September 15, 2007 Report Posted September 15, 2007 hi paul the winning time was 1 hr 20 mins for 65 miles we won the race i believe
deanbruton Posted September 15, 2007 Report Posted September 15, 2007 with regards to transport i have mixed views all be it its an old transporter the results from welsh south east this year leave a lot to be desired, lots of bad races could be transporter or something else, looking through reuslts all last year doing 50 mph this year mostley 40mph or less and not very good returns you make your own conclusions. maybe new transport but second class racing
Guest Posted September 15, 2007 Report Posted September 15, 2007 hi paul the winning time was 1 hr 20 mins for 65 miles we won the race i believe well done m8
deanbruton Posted September 15, 2007 Report Posted September 15, 2007 thanks me mate and the same back
chichichi Posted September 16, 2007 Report Posted September 16, 2007 dean my point is if the geraldy is state of the art how can a plastic board slip and birds get out,,,I also heard that birds escaped in maidstone but I heard the geraldy was to blame again........I also heard that one side of a transporter was not cut at rams and went a few mins after the main bunch....I only report on fact ,,mark from ramsgate saw the lib and reported back to me,,,who saw the maidstone lib???Well we will see next year when the wnr leave the combine or get forced out....remember boys its run by us all and not the wnr...remember the north road years ago...I do...
deanbruton Posted September 16, 2007 Report Posted September 16, 2007 anthony i have to agree the geraldy was to be state of the art but racing this year had not been has good, and for birds to escape from this does not add up has entry for pigeons is only from front which is impossible to then open. With regards to combine i don't know what happens there but members of the wnr never know anything or make any decisions thata why there is a lot of ill feeling, if the management are to blame i don't know. Take lillers for example your fed was mandated to this day we haven't received any notice about this from wnr fed only that all birds are to be taken to a national amrking station.
Guest Posted September 16, 2007 Report Posted September 16, 2007 one thing we noticed when our club was loading birds,is that when the crates were pushed in,one went partly into the corridor for walking in,this was probably the case how birds escaped,....the crate was pushed inwards after the strings were cut and the door dropped a fraction enabling birds to escape....paul
chichichi Posted September 16, 2007 Report Posted September 16, 2007 I feel for you dean,,,,I think there are a small close knit base of fanciers in the combine that decide things,,,,I think there are some of our fed in it,,thats why we know things early...and every rumour I hear is normally right...I have heard that we are not going to lillers and ramsgate is now on...but its only a rumour,,but they normally come true.....I feel that every fed in the combine should have 2 or 3 people who call the combine shots....and nothing is decided within closed doors......If it carries on there will be no combine to talk of....without the feds the combine are nothing so they should treat everyone the same and ask what they want before changing things..... goodluck everyone sending to lillers ( ramsgate)...weather looking bad at the moment.... anthony
Guest Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 Any confirmation on where they are going?
Guest Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 anyone see last weeks bhw write up...ray williams on about the south road national and the race they sent to supposedly with the central southern classic...have a read of it...its an eye opener...paul.
chichichi Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 paul i think that ray williams has a personal agenda with the people in the national....I was told the birds were watered before going and then on arrival in frome,,,,,sealed baskets is another thing....

deanbruton Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 hi paul with ref to your original quote. I believe the rhondda valley transporter is a good one just look at their racing and returns this year. Our new state of the art transporter which has cost us a lot of money has not improved racing but has taken us back years ie bad returns, pigeons this year barely doing 40mph birds returning thirsty old and young and most not returning, is this progress i ask??????
