EAGLEOWL Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 just a thought why dont we have pigeon clubs for fanciers and new comers to learn the art of keeping and racing pigeons . you can learn from football to fishing how to play or fish yes i know we have clubs that are for so called meetings (i mean war breaks out ) but why cannot we have pigeon clubs to learn from real champion pigeon flyers ,the art of housing them feeding training conditioning motivating them etc surley this might bring young people into the sport oreven keep fanciers in the sport or is this a daft question
jimmy white Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 not so daft a question ,, the art of pigeon racing becomes a very knowledgable thing ,, not one of us know the complete all, but there are many experienced fanciers willing to mentor younger or even older fanciers,, to my mind a young flier should have a good mentor that he can go back to when need be
Wiley Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 its also a very nice gesture when an experienced and successful fanciers takes a young fancier under his wing
EAGLEOWL Posted September 26, 2007 Author Report Posted September 26, 2007 jimmy i agree i have raced thirty years and im still learning ,but i think clubs would be a great idea three or four top fanciers putting a evening club on to attract new comers into the sport ,offering advice for anyone who wants to learn, even having pigeons there to demonstrate when giving advise .
Ronnie Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 I think this is a great idea.I know everything ive learned about pigeons in the last 18 months has been down to trial and error or this site and people on it. I found people are great at saying they love to help or like to offer help in front of the other club members until they are actually asked.I also find there great to offer advice when your at the bottom of the sheet but when you put a few near the top they turn tight lipped.
EAGLEOWL Posted September 26, 2007 Author Report Posted September 26, 2007 i understand what your saying ronnie ,why i cannot understand because every top pigeonman will tell you hes got the best birds ,if this is true why not tell you what you want to know. is pigeon racing a win at all cost sport ,is it not better to help someone become better im sure they will be very gratefull ,is it not better if other people win with pigeons you bred them for free ,who can sing your praises, pigeon racing is a hobby yes i know its a obsession with some people . it always suprises me why people cannot offer advice ,
