Back garden fancier Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 I use cod liver oil once a week, on the corn then either brewers yeast or Provit, the oil makes it stick.

My understanding is that Omega-3 'fats' need to be fed in balance with Omega-6 'fats', at a ratio of 1:4. Omega-6 I think are mainly vegetable 'fats', main source oil-rich seeds. Wondered what oil seeds you used?
Guest shadow Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 always used cod liver oil capsules saves making a mess of the feeders, then i only flew small teams 16 pair on rounabout and 24 young birds
Back garden fancier Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 "Small" team? Try 4 pair natural and 14 young birds, that's a small team!!
PigeonClarke Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 Whats the advantage of BREWERS YEAST and where can it be got
jimbobboy Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 George: How do you get your birds that tame? I used to use a feeding board but now I use a feeder. I think I should go back to the board seems like you got to keep them plenty hungary. On the subject of cod liver oil I put it in the feed the night before to penatrate the seeds and give the next morning I give during the moult!!! jimbobboy
