trailbound Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 I have dabbled in racing pigeons the last few years, and have decided to switch my focus the white release pigeons. I have built a brand new loft, and for the first time have ordered pigeons online from 2 different lofts that are en route from lower 48 (I am in Alaska) The first bunch (5 breeding pr) should arrive today, and the second bunch (4 breeding pair) tomarrow or Thursday. I read about isolation, but have nothing to isolate them from (the loft is brand new) Should I isolate the 2 bunches from each other? Is there anything I need to treat them for upon recieving them? Things to watch out for? Of course both lofts promise healthy birds etc etc. Any feedback greatly appreciated... Kelley
gangster Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 if your loft has 2 sections keep them apart for 7 days if they show no signs of disease then put them together,.....cider vinegar in the water , also check to see if they are vaccinated and have been treated by previous owners...............
Chatrace Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 might I ask who you got them from, it may help if you need to watch :-) I do releases and have about 80 whites at this time. Good Luck
