Lightning McQueen Posted November 3, 2007 Report Posted November 3, 2007 We normally part them half way through the YB season, as we would have finished breeding by then and want to give the hens a break instead of constantly being driven, sitting etc

jimmy white Posted November 3, 2007 Report Posted November 3, 2007 as soon as youve finished wanting yb,s off them ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, i have found in the past that 3 or 4 younger stock cocks [obviosly flying out ] help keep a w,hood team fresh and on their toes if seperated early [and basketed while cocks are away a race till monday on longer races, sunday in shorter races ] and the stock cocks keep healthier for it
me Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 when do u part ur stock birds(sexes)if u do?...paul. If they breed crap they get parted right away!
retired Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 five days before i wean the very last round of the year i part the sexes however such as now i intend pairing in about 23 days time so my hens are gradually being introduced to the cocks i am pairing them too for 2008 as i find it easier when i wan tthem together
Guest Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 My stock birds and racers are in the same sections in the same loft so they all get seperated at the same time - the first weekend after the YB racing ends, mid-September. Don't intend pairing again till Feb / March 2008. Still a long ways off and 2 of the hens have paired up already. >
