I've no birds but hope to race next year.  I've managed to track down my local club, although I haven't contacted them yet.  Obviously I've a loft to build.  I was going to try the redrose starter loft, possibly extending it to 8x4, rather than 8x3 plus the little aviary.  I'm limited in space, so this will be the only loft I have for a while, for young and old birds.

So, how many birds can a loft this size take?  And when the time comes, how many pairs of old birds could I keep to how many young?

I've heard of people, and seen a few video's on youtube, where the young birds are kept in with the old birds, is that a sensible approach for a loft this size?  I know I'm running before I can walk, but I'd like the get the plan correct now, rather than end up building an unsuitable loft.

Incidentally, any of you near Inverness?

Cheers
