Guest j v ward Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 do you part your stock birds in the winter
Guest shadow Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 yes as soon as I have finished breeding off them
Hogni Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 yes the day after the last race all pigeons are parted however nowe the breeding season is nearly here i do every so often brng the hens and lock them in the cocks boxes for a couple of hours as i find ithelps with the pairing Funny how things are, i was just about to ask if anyone had tried something similar to what you describe. The cocks in my family of birds are unusually aggressive towards the hens when first put together and that sometimes puts the hens off or they get injured. So how do you work this out? How long before pairing day do you put them first together and how often before finally pairing them up?
jimmy white Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 do you part your stock birds in the winter if you do, theyll be far easier to breed when you want them too
mark Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 i always put a spare widowhood front between them so they can see each other but cant get togeather. stops the hen getting hurt.
