Guest j.bamling Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 oh thats it confuse me even more lol :-/ :-/ ;D Gerry + carbo feed from Versela laga & a Irish mix is a good high protein mix
Guest dogeon Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 well ive heard a high carb corn for part of the week and a high protein for the rest and dont know which is what
Guest Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 i dont know where you get high protein from LOL ;D but where i fly high protein is a mixture of Beans , Peas , Tares etc & Low Protein mixes are such as your Gerry + type ,high carb, low protein if u read it again i said u dont get many beans...the rest i know are in high protein mixes.....peas take 24hrs to digest beans take 48 hours.
homer Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 higherst protien = vetches (tares) at 22.9% folowed by tic beans at 20.1% highest carbs = maize at 65.7% followed by wheat at 64% so maize and wheat diet for your high carb days and tic beans and tares for high protein part of the week. job done !
Guest dogeon Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 so would you surgest that versalaga gerry plus for high carb, and versalaga energy plus for high protein
homer Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 i dont know anything about those versalaga mixes ? i can only guess that any mix with the word energy in it would in fact be the high carb mix. carbs = energy a lot of corn merchants do bags of single seeds (my local one does) and what you could do is mix your own. ?
Guest dogeon Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 that sounds too complicated, for a newbee anyway maybe in a few years when i can understand it more
homer Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 next time your in the store check out the labels on those mixes and they might tell you the percentages of protein , carbs , fat and fibre. could be as simple as versalaga gerry for hi protein and versalaga energy for your high carbs ??
Guest Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 that sounds too complicated, for a newbee anyway maybe in a few years when i can understand it more if ur a newbie in the racing scene i think ud be better off looking at the basics 1st getting to know ur birds and the way things are, later on then u can start thinking about things like other systems and wot type of special feeds to give. too many jump b4 they can walk...i dont mean this in a bad way but i made mistakes when i started by trying to do everything all at once....i can now look back and laugh at how blind i was when i 1st started...mind u i cant see that good now... ;D ;D ;D ;D

There is a table on the site that shows the exact composition of each grain and it shows all of your quotes as wrong, here is the link to download or just look at grain composition. beans has the highest protein content over any other grains http://www.pigeonbasics.com/downloads/grains2.exe
