Okitsme Posted December 11, 2007 Author Report Posted December 11, 2007 did you have a look to see if it as Black splashys on its tail or flights as if it does its a certain cock ,if there brown it is a hen David Sorry no, I have not checked yet. Guest paulrstokes Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 Looks like a hen to me. I have heard all thwe theories, but have not tried them myself, I remeber watching John Magee's video called a fanciers fancier and there is something in there to do with holding the bird upside down. If it struggles to get up it is a cock, if it lays there it is a hen. Can anyone confirm who has the video to hand
Okitsme Posted December 11, 2007 Author Report Posted December 11, 2007 I think I am on the verge of shoving a finger up "there" and feeling for myself. ;D ;D
Okitsme Posted December 13, 2007 Author Report Posted December 13, 2007 Well the mystery is solved, its a hen. She layed her first egg today. :'( :'( Thanks for all the help. Regards David

Guest Greig the doo Drysdale Posted January 1, 2008 Report Posted January 1, 2008 Looks like a hen to me. If it struggles to get up it is a cock, if it lays there it is a hen. Can anyone confirm who has the video to hand Thats the method I use You hold the bird n your hand and turn its head 180degrees turn it upside down and hold it gently in your hand if it riggles it's a cock if it stays still it's a hen. Ps Glad you found out what it was
Guest Greig the doo Drysdale Posted January 1, 2008 Report Posted January 1, 2008 I will try and get a picture of what i mean on tomorrow
