This link gives more info on what veg contains what and what its for:- http://www.vegetableexpert.co.uk/KnowYourVitaminsAndMinerals.html yes the birds really enjoy lettuce, often with a little salt on,, but green cabbage contains more iron than lettuce,,,,,,my old dad used to hang one up with the roots and earth still on ,, they loved it ;D

"Of course you can", you can either buy it as a herb tea, from a health food store etc. Or do as I do, & grow your own, lovely flower for your garden, purple & yellow in colour, & they look terrific in the garden. When they die off, you boil the whole plant in hot water 10 minutes then mix with sugar & let stand to cool. after a week or so, skim of the residue which rises to the top of the container which it is stored in, then use every week in water troughs once or twice as a general tonic. PS One of those Old Hand remedies etc, from the past (Old but good), I use 40mls per bucket = 10litres. Enjoy.
