dont know what terrain and conditions like where you are in canada but here my 1st toss is 30 miles if yb running well less is a waste  of time i think

i would tend to agree with this one ,, so that the second round have to think for themselves for a bit  :)

I tend to see this as educating youngsters rather than training, like all education its best done over a period rather than grinds,I would do exactly the same with second round, this being from three points of compass, learning them how to navigate then from same lib site 25mls on line of flight, late evening, when they should learn to home with utmost urgency, due to impending dusk,if they should encounter a problem in any evening lib, well and good they are usually close enough to home following morning.Youngsters and indeed yearlings I bieleive should be handled with utmost care, till two years old, then they are the complete package, with hopefully a good selection to choose from, then ask all the questions.

MY FIRST TRAINING EXERCISE IS FROM THE GARDEN I BASKET ON SEVERAL TIMES AND TAKE THEM TO THE TOP OF THE YARD OPEN UP THE TRAP AND THEN RELEASE THEM I DO THIS TILL IM HAPPY WITH THE WAY THEY ARE TRAPPING ONCE THEYVE MASTERED TRAPPING THEN THEY GO UP THE ROAD BUT I DONT MEAN 30 MILES ECT I TAKE THEM 4 MILES AND BUILD THEM UP OVER THE WKS WHEN IM HAPPY WITH WHAT THEY ARE DOING I ONLY EVER TRAIN TO A TOP DISTANCE OF 25 MILES WITH THE YBS THEN 2 WKS BEFORE THE FIRST RACE THEY ARE KEPT AT 12 MILES EVERYDAY AS SOON AS THE FIRST RACE IS OVER SO IS THE TRAINING FOR ME ILL EXERCISE AROUND HOME JUST TO KEEP THEM FIT
