if I was starting again I would find out who the best local fanciers where, try if possible to get some latebred from them or birds similar to the family they are flying as I would know that whatever the breed was it would fly to that area.

if i start all over again. iwould only buy young birds. race them. and put the best in stock for 1 season. then keep the ones that bred winners.and i would do this every year.and it would not matter what family they were.
