should i ring the white homers im going to use for wedding releaases?

Use white or yellow rings with your details on it, only need official rings if you plan to race, the bird may get lost and you may get it back if it has your details on it.

White because it will contrast with the bird and yellow (gold) being symbolic of weddings :)

I ring all mine so I  know which birds are breeding good youngsters and also which birds have flown on which days and in which direction.   My birds are trained out to all points of the compass but some people train their birds in teams -  one team north, one south etc. You could use coloured rings if you are doing this but I prefer to be able to identify the birds individually.

I always rrpa ring my whites...... along with a number ring.

 

I've conducted over 300 wedding releases and have never had a compliant.

 

Also I find if you want to ever sell the birds on, the ones that are rrpa rung are more desirable, and often sell for abit more   ;)

We have never done any releases, I was just thinking from a photographic point of view, I suppose the general public that hire your birds would not know any difference  :-/

What do you do on release day? Do you just attend and release the birds, do you leave the birds with the wedding party etc/
