Mike Lycett Posted March 27, 2006 Report Posted March 27, 2006 It is the most unfair sport on earth Rose In horse races the better horses carry bigger weights.
Guest Posted March 27, 2006 Report Posted March 27, 2006 As I mentioned in previous posts any AU Club and publish 2 results One for Open and One for Sportsmen, the sportsman category covers beginners who compete against each other and receive their own cards and trophies. shame on the NFC and MNFC for charging Juniors

jordanp31 Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 my grandad got me interested in pigeons about a year ago. i started of with rolers but i would love to start racing. The problem is my parents arent intersted and my grandad has had rolers all his life and deosnt want to change to racers now. my parents like the rolers but they dont want me to race because they dont understand the sport... i think the problem is that their is interest in pigeon racing from young fanciers like myself but they cannot get the backing from family etc that they need to start up. It is hard for young fanciers to just say to their parent that they want to start to race pigeons... jordan
Guest Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 Jordan, Perhaps you could get a copy of "Pigeon Racing - a Family Sport from the RPRA at the Reddings. It's a very well put together publication which really exlains the Sport in laymans terms. Maybe your parents would be more encouraging after reading this

mealybar Posted May 21, 2006 Report Posted May 21, 2006 Are there any fanciers around your area which would let you muck in helping out with their birds. If you parents see how commited you are with these racers, and learn a bit more about the sport - you can tell them whats happening in the club, each week etc. - they may come around to the idea Also if you get a good mentor around about it may take some of the pressure off your parents if you can catch the odd training toss with them,,etc.
THE FIFER Posted May 21, 2006 Report Posted May 21, 2006 MY G/SON MARC HAS BEEN AROUND MY PIGEONS SINCE HE WASD2YRS OLD AND STILL THERE AT 11YRS.
DEEJAY Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 I still consider myself a youngster---I'm old enough to know better---but still young enough to get into trouble and I'm 56 years young and never growing up cause old people tend to get miserable the closer they get to the grave lol!
