wayne77 Posted January 1, 2008 Report Posted January 1, 2008 Always tough question that! Geoff Kirkland Brian Sheppard Brian Denny Ron Williamson But theres loads more
Wiley Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 Frank Tasker, Ron Williamson, Geoff Kirkland, Alf Baker
Guest Silverwings Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 would be a nice idea to run a poll on this thread spirit ? a couple more names for the hat Clive Yates . Alan Darragh....etc
Guest Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 Jim Biss, & Geoff Kirkland, National results second to none. Planet Bros, ace fanciers with knowledge to burn, and Louis Massarella, in my opinion a genius, for building from nothing a super pigeon stud!
Simeon Turner Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 robert stoddart and bob mcdonald Hey John - Happy New Year to you and Cynthia - all the best for 2008. Robert Stoddart that was the one I was trying to think of, remember when I was a kid my Grandad talking about him - wasn't he the one who had an illness so he couldn't go in daylight?

Guest Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 ron williamson, won what only some of us can dream about, geoff kirkland phenominal results in nationals, frank tasker and last for me being from south wales the parternership of the padfield family. not everyones choice but thats mine !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. hiya nigel m8,i think padfields are fine for the distance but a good all rounder in wales,i spose u could look no further then the preece bros cwmtillery, is it 7 nationals? and many 2nds 3rds 4ths and so on. my 4 would be .kirkland/tasker/ron williamson and maybe jim biss...there are many right behind them from all over the uk...paul.
nigel holloway Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 you could run a poll ther same way the one was run about the best strain of pigeon, name what you would consider the best 10 and let people vote on them ? just an idea.
Guest Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 after looking at my post ive decided to extend it to five great flyers from a different angle...who would u choose??any distance included...there will be many others who have not been included but heres just five.
jimmy white Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 i think these are the most difficult questions regarding good fanciers , there have been so many " greats" over the years [inc the ones on the poll] one of my great fliers and good freinds, are the wooff family , charlie, russel from new ollerton, and les from staindrop , darlington ,, these fanciers over decades have been top fed winners etc midland nat winners etc ,les won the louella car a few years ago , charlie and russel ,[well over 70 now,,,again top fed winners 2007, winning £8,800 ] least mentioned as they dont have books videos etc , just ordinary down to earth ,honest great pigeon men ,,,to me join they ranks of the" greats"
Guest WINGS 04 Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 GEORGE McALONEY AND SON HAVE TO BE IN THE SAME CLASS AS THE MEN IN THE POLL
DOVEScot Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 Ask for names by a certain date, if you get loads then put them all up for votes, a given time (say a month or a week) later select the top ten from the first poll and that is your final poll that is voted on :-/
Simeon Turner Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 simeon happy new year to you and family r stoddart family of birds are still about today i have some Thanks John, you will have to show me them sometime - I would be interested to see what they are like.
cass04 Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 what about the late john clark, or mike young.....both alltime greats racing from barcelona
wullie semple Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 GEORGE McALONEY AND SON HAVE TO BE IN THE SAME CLASS AS THE MEN IN THE POLL george and wullie macaloney what a record past national winners gold awards and some highlights over the last few seasons toping lanarkshire fed 24 times some weeks taking the first twelve this loft has a record that we all dream about all the best george and wullie in 2008
schouwman71 Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 Ron williams, just look on what his birds have to cross and fly to get home and win agains thousands, also M&D Evans, they have won everythink that there is to win including many national top performances. But there many more aces out there, think the small team fanciers are greater than the big team men.Look at those belguim fanciers, only the big team men get there peformances mentioned ,not the small team fanciers who still can finish in the top 10% of races.
retired Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 Jimmy i could not agree more with your opinion I respect all pigeon men who get what THEY Want from the game but i think i have two major idols in this sport And Les Wooff is one of the two.
Guest Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 John ellis wellbank chris gordon seem to have been missed out, cant apprereciate why top flyers.
