Do 1 Loft Races issue a balance sheet or are they just a licence to print money for the organisers.

I agree they should do but do they?

well have you been entered in to any and if so were you given a balance sheet ?

I think the RPRA print a balance sheet for their members too see. Can't answer for any other one loft races but the Edinburgh International OLR will issue a balance sheet to everyone competing in the races.

Yes I did enter one and no I was not given a balance sheet for that so that is the reason I am asking to see if that is the norm.

Would be surprised if they are not, though must admit i know little about them, other than following closely the new one in Edinburgh.Indeed it does this site proud.

One thing I was wondering, if it is possible with todays tech, if the return of the birds can be filmed live as it happens. Now that would be somethingeles

Just a thought I sure someone will tell me.

a good point about returning birds being filmed, quite sure somebody there will have a video camera, would be great to see it on here if you can't get to see the race itself

The Edinburgh International OLR is hoping to have the birds being filmed webcam style and as the birds go through the bobwires and over the BRICON ETS pad the ring numbers will be displayed on the internet in 'real time'

Most of the 1 loft races are being run as a private business so they dont put out a bal. sheet it would be nice but you dont need to be the brain of britain to count it up no of birds/activated x how much the entry less what it costs to train/feed etc yes there is money in it for them but they are taking the risks and doing all the work and Kenny will tell you its not easy money and 1/2 bad tosses and you are in sh-- street without a shovel i say best of luck to them where can you get that kind of winnings in our sport to-day?

Posted

we have entered in one,, don't know about a balence sheet but all monies are allocated before the races start,, also a one of fee and all the birds are activated,, no need to activate any more,, so no hiding monies..

first one entered and fingers crossed first one won..

goodluck to all in the one loft races..

..you send your youngster or youngsters as soon as they are eating themselves to the 1 loft and the team there take control of there well being they are settled along with others sent and are soon flying around with all the other birds...training medication vaccination is done by the guys running the race regular updaits ect are readily provided you can even pool them in the hotspot races and main race...

Without doubt they are good for our sport, yes there will always be some who talk of money made. However where else can one win this kind of money, in our sport today.after all the feeding and training, and time put in, there may be £50 in a club on a sat. There will of course be clubs with a lot more than that but there are also clubs with less than £50

Wish the one loft race lofts all the best in this coming season. It is they who are laying the foundation, for the way in which our sport will go, in the years to come.

Cheers
