DOVEScot Posted February 21, 2008 Report Posted February 21, 2008 I spoke to Gladdo at Blackpool and he is really a nice young guy, don't right him off because he is keen, impatient or got things wrong. Surely we have all been there:-/

883girl Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 cheers dovescot mate for your backing ..it aint the young birds its the people i have sent pm s and they not get back to me just to tell me how things are ..if they not want to breed some for new fancier then the sport is a dying one ... well it aint matter now as i might just leave them and get them myself if its not too late ..ill get lates somewhere ,,,,, cheers ... Don't be daft! Just be patient. All will come good, they do that on here you know, come good. I think i said before that most had only just paired, they will be breeding for themselves too and you will get your birds. I understand your eagerness, i'm the most impatient person on the planet, trust me. But there wouldnt be a lot to say really apart from, they have been paired and a couple of weeks later there is an egg. Just be patient and dont shoot yourself in the foot ;D
Guest chrisss Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 i think the only thing to do is take your time i would like to think the ybs will turn up for you i doubt very much that there is anyone on this site has not been "let down" by some one here[things happen, its human nature] i was promised some ybs this year but heard nothing again [despite pms to confirm ] it happens :D
Guest gladdo Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 ok lets end this now and we will see yeah ?
Guest chrisss Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 however it turns out good luck for the season
pjc Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 Pigeon racing is all about patience gladdo! You have a lot to learn and i'm sure you will get there but many fanciers take a lifetime to acheive there goals and many never achieve there goals!
murphy Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 gladdo: be patient it takes time to rear youngsters!!! We just paired our birds over here: right now it's about 15 degrees where I live an birds seem like they're not interested in nothing but keeping warm!!! jimbobboy usa 15 degrees. That would be like been in the bahamas. Its been minus 6 & 7 down here all week.
DOVEScot Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 15 degrees. That would be like been in the bahamas. Its been minus 6 & 7 down here all week. He is American, he works in farenheit. quite cold -9.5 :-/
jimmy white Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 As sapper756 said be patient gladdo I have 4 of your rings here but like I said I'll contact you when i ring up the youngbirds. Many fanciers like me paired up after the Blackpool show and eggs have now just started chipping. you must be patient gladdo ,, some fanciers distance pigeons dont get paired till april ,, ive promised out about 40 yb,s ,,[ this actualy becomes a bit of a worry ] gangster gave me 7 of your rings ] i will be able to ring you 4 yb,s for racing and 3 later for stock,,,or racing next year , but i do wish you well , but with pigeons youll find that patience is a virtue ;
gangster Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 gladdo...it will all fall in place be patient......count yourself very lucky ive plenty of problems and those who know me on here will understand ...im not going to go into it but all those rings i gave out for you will be honoured i can stand on the people who had them 100%........
Lennut Tar Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 ive been let down as well by aberdeen football team ;D ;D ;D Yes !!!!!! but you will bounce back etc ok ;) All us footy fans (No matter what code) are as thick as bricks :) so to speak. But each year we front up for more punishment in most cases. Just like pigeon racing, & we love to dream etc of the glory days : : : which many of us have had in the past & that makes us happy for a while :P . "Till reality sets in". You could say. Enjoy.
doo Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 Gladdo ......it might be better if some let you down as all you will have is a mish mash of birds all shapes & sizes ....I'm not saying they will be crap ....but it's best to have a type (size,balance,shape)of pigeon then you can race them & any you have left should knit together nicely when it comes to breeding next season's young birds......my opinion
Guest Paulo Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 yeah all should have them ... 8 were not collected and webmaster still has them ...ive 2 to send to paulo and 2 for jstoon ...other than that but i assure you ive had a major let down .... thanks cheqhen for your message all the same .... cheers Well you have my personal assurance as soon as I recieve your rings they'll go on some YB's. If you've lost my address pm me and I'll send you it again. I do need rings through normally I would have no problem in putting my own rings on for you but this year I'm breeding a lot of youngsters so haven't got spare rings. I have old 07 rings I could put on for you but that means you can't race the birds to next year which is really no good for you.
Guest Paulo Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 Gladdo ......it might be better if some let you down as all you will have is a mish mash of birds all shapes & sizes ....I'm not saying they will be crap ....but it's best to have a type (size,balance,shape)of pigeon then you can race them & any you have left should knit together nicely when it comes to breeding next season's young birds......my opinion I was lucky as stevebelbin off here gave me latebreds and yearlings from his famially of busschaerts which are the same type of birds. Then went to two top flyers who were local but I wasn't flying against. My dad was close friends with one of them and had swapped birds regualry when they were both racing and the other was close friends with one of my dads best friends. I brought YB's from both men and when I went to collect them I found one give me a eggs from his best birds and the other had bred me an extra YB and give me two unrung yb's off his best pair of birds and a lot of advice. Most proper pigeon men who aren't just in it for the money are keen to see novices succeed I think. I remember going up to see one of them when I got my first chalk in the club last year and I was excited and he was prob sick hearing about it as it was only a micky mouse short race but he just smiled and told me about when he won his first race and how good it is. I also brought a pair of gaby vandies off stevebelbin who bred me the one that got me a position in its first nest of YB's. They are off Mike Lycett orgianlly so I contacted Mike and brought two more gaby youngsters. Still got one left. So for breeding I've just paired members of each familly birds to each of the same famially where possible and then paired whats left together to complent each other. Davey Barkel gave me some good advice on breeding. Can wait to try the yb's out this year properly on the dark as they were natural the first year. You'll love it Gladdo just have patience it does take time to breed youngsters and I'm sure most people will honour their words.
