OLDYELLOW Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 Watch BBC news today at the extraordinary claims at the amounts of birds been killed and nest destroyed , not a mention of the decimation off our song bird population , but i suppose there just not as magestic as these killers. I suppose this has come out at a time when it is said that these birds of prey should becoming of the endangered list as they are well populated . It's claimed that most birds were in the north and Scotish boarders , i suppose these game keepers are protecting there life stock and should be able to do so , as we should be able to .
ChrisMaidment08 Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 on thooth claw site they would marry one if they could but of couse we would be to blame for ther problems later
german owls rock Posted July 28, 2008 Report Posted July 28, 2008 its not just hawks i had a song thrush nest in the aloppment a few years back and i watched in amazemint a magpie come down and eat the baby birds aand ruin the nest its shocking init ...jack...
Guest bigda Posted July 28, 2008 Report Posted July 28, 2008 thats what making it harder for the pigeon you see the magpie is eaten the blackbird young and the thrush and sparrow now that they are getting scarce the hawk has noticed the difference and is going more for the racing pigeon i have thrown bread out for the birds only to go out 3 days latter to lift it from the garden as there dose not seem to be Manny birds about, and thats the scary part and i can honestly say 30 years ago, there was no and i mean no , magpies the ones that i did see was on the telly, now they are in here at 6" centers in the lanarkshire area, > > >
OLDYELLOW Posted July 28, 2008 Author Report Posted July 28, 2008 theres alot of song birds around where i live , i noticed more varietys than i've seen for a long time , the only difference to where i used to live is that nearly every garden has hedges so more nesting opertunitys for birds , most people working would rather have a fence or a wall , as less work than a hedge . Shame R.S.P.B does not offer grants for hedging hawthorn be best as the thorns give the song birds more protection.
