Guest strapper Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 is it me or does that bird in that pic look like its got a prob with resp...?
Guest Freebird Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 So easy to blame the wee pigeon. The strag is usually the clean up bird after the seagull who bursts the bags open. Real blame is the council/local authority for not providing the proper bins etc. but they are quite happy the focus is on the wee birds just trying to survive. Well done, I say to the Feral for surviving against all odds. They are only diseased because of us. We are the problem not the birds and until we recognise this then it will just continue.
Guest Freebird Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 is it me or does that bird in that pic look like its got a prob with resp...? Definately not. It's probably feeding its 4th round of chicks. (wiseman)
the pigeon_milker Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 when i was younger there were thousands of wild pigeons but over the past few years they nearly all gone they had all poisoned and there wire all over the shop to stop them landing when there's to many then diseased is a problem and numbers need to limited but they should look after the pigeon population better not just kill them all i wonder how many race bird have fallen for poison food when tied & hungry just a thought

me Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/bradford/7534841.stm The man from the council has glibly stated that pigeons spread disease the implication being that they are a danger to ordinary humans going about their normal business. Bullshit! someone should challenge him to provide scientific evidence that this is the case and guess what he won't be able to do it because their is absolutely no proof in existence that a member of the public walking along the street has ever caught a disease from a pigeon. This guy works for a council, councils are run by politicians and politicians are not even capable of lying straight in their beds! Think about it!
the pigeon_milker Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 asbestos is very bad for you but the council made schools out of that and how come they dont get rid of the rats that do spread disease they are all full of it always have been and always will be
Guest IB Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 I think our Council is working up something similar 'don't feed the birds'. Most of the complaints come from business and commercial concerns and it is nuisance-based, rather than heath concerns. Complaints about mess and fouling, and the costs of cleaning droppings etc off statues, buildings etc.
