quail with pigeons

can quail live with pigeons and what can you do to stop birds attacking them

i wouldn't mix them but it depends what quail you get as there are a lot of diff sizes.

a number of years ago had a very large aviary for stock birds and had some quail in them about 6 never bothered the pigeons and they never bothered the quail ,scared the pigeons at first but they got used to them ,only thing is they lay eggs all over the place which are good for eating but so were the quail  ;D : ;D ;D

I keep my dad's chinese painted and californians with my pigeons but they need places to hide, my breeding boxes have and empty space below them so i have got wire with a gap just big enough for the quail to get through to hide and i keep their food and water under there.

chinese painted would be a good laugh with pigeons,californian,are almost as big as a pigeon,if i remember right,and i think japanese are almost as big

the californians were out in my avary with my pigeons earlier in the rain and they use the opening to go in (they fly up to it)

Same here, years ago we had quail and pigeons together with no problems and they keep the floor clean of any spilled seeds from feeders

what japanese? its been a few years since i have seen one ,so you might well be right,the ones i saw were white ones,is that the normal colour?
