BIGK Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 Lets not condemn the person to death who's had it in they may not be fanciers, alot of people with doves in the garden get strays dropping in and some do stay. I remember as a young lad keeping my first pigeons in an orange box, these birds were caught in the town centre and 1 of them was a champion cos it had a ring on! now not knowing anything about racing we didnt report it but this pigeon was stolen by my friends and then stolen back by me thinking the ring made all the difference! colour of course was the main influence at that age bonnier the better!!! but in peoples defence more and more dont want to pay the £35 to get them back and skirt round wanting them disposing of so in whomever has had this pigeons defence if its in good nick good on them.
VAGIN Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 You would be beter to isolate for a couple off weeks as you have no idea where he has been whose loft he was in and what diseases he may have picked up think about it
robbie1 Posted September 5, 2008 Author Report Posted September 5, 2008 hes seperate from my other birds keeping him seperate for a week or so just to be safe

She's vaccinated and the wounds are fully healed now
jimmy white Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 you will find a pigeon has the most amazing memory , they really just never forget,, i.e one jumps out the sputnick once as a yb ,,itll do the same at 10 years old,, if a bird feeds off your hand once as a yb ,,ittl do it again ,, if one flies over your head at the loft door ittl do it again,,,,,,,,quite a lot of food for thought ??
Guest Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 i for one would give him his box and hen now and look after him it will pay dividends Vey good advice ..... I'll second that!!
