Lennut Tar Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 how much food do you give your young birds once they are up and flying Wee Gaz !!!!!!!! interesting topic ;) deserves more input here, the way I look at things etc & you could write a book on this one topic alone. "But where not going to do that" ;D ;D ;D. Just a couple of things to be aware of etc. The weather on the day, plays a large part in what pigeons eat, if you allow them, so never just measure out a given amount & give that to them day in day out. It's wrong in my view. The quality of the feed you give them, it may all look the same etc. but it isn't "Trust me". Smell it, eat it & watch which grains the birds prefer to eat at different times etc & you may be surprised at what you could learn. Exspensive food does not necessarily mean its the best food to give your birds at times "Cheap can be Good" ;) if your careful. Finally !!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D go easy on the peas/beans, they can be poison to the birds the way I look at things 8) 8) 8) & I know there are many here that believe in them, & are very successful in their own rite. But I like my vegetables "JMO" & I don't have steak to often on my table here. PS. In fact !!!!!!! give me a bag of apples & a jar of vegemite etc, & I'm like a pig in sh*t. Enjoy.
