Guest Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 Well i have to say if you would of picked any those dark ones from the Blenkhorn pair you would not of gone wrong!! Very underated and what ever they went for would be a bargain, what was in the sale was just tip of the iceberg for that pair!! Mick spot on picked the 3 didn't look at pedigree no idea of what's good and what isn't on paper, I didn't buy went with a friend to help him select. They all went out of his price range though. Otherwise they would be in Devon!!

One bred a YB to win 2 x 1sts in two races.
pjc Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 Sounds like a good sale and I like your Blue cock Mickb! Phil
STEVE HOLE Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 hepste, i think your right about hard earned money, personally i dont think the auction room is where to buy a pigeon, everyone was a champion in the spill and we all know theres only 1 or 2 that will make good pigeons, pigeons that were sold with many first's do no neccesary make good breeders, because thats what fanciers were buying and spending big money to take a chance, i sat with my hands firmly down, ive learned the hard way about spending big money and seeing birds a lot less in value win.

Spot on Steve, i've been to sales where the big winners go for £1000's and the parents go for less! I know what i would rather have!! My blue cock's children have gone for £800+ yet been offered a lot less than that for him, wheres the sense in that???
