PigeonTracker Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 Something new happened to us which is a first for us, wel for me anywy. One of the hens has only gone and laid an egg during transit. Now I don't know whether it was stress or comfort that caused this but it was a really pleasant surprise to see her sitting quite happy on her newly laid. It might be new to me but has anyone actually recieved a bird then finding it sitting on an egg? I hope the egg goes full distance and then I'm going to ask the new owner if they'll name it after Pigeon Tracker and I can sponsor it through its racing.

I thought you would have experienced this before in your forty years of keeping pigeons Jamie :-/ Could you not float the egg under one of your pigeons, also it would not have the full advantage of the race program being laid at this time of the year, too early to be rung for 2009 and a very late late breed :-/ Anyway all the best with it no matter what the outcome :)
PigeonTracker Posted October 31, 2008 Author Report Posted October 31, 2008 It was a first for Pigeon Tracker as a company Duncan not for me personally, I'm not sure what the owner is going to do with the egg or whether it goes full term but its going to be something I'm going to follow that's for sure. The Navigator Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 Take a small gas stove and a frying pan in the van Jamie. You can fry them up on your travels. :)
Lennut Tar Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 You find plenty of eggs in race baskets personally would never send a hen if she was eggy not sure if people do it because they dont care and they got to go or whether its because they cant tell when they are like that ;D ;D I think it's the latter Rose ;) "True story now" recent race here, I pulled 4 eggs out of one of the members baskets. Do you not think ???????? I put sh*t on him etc. Another story "LMFAO" a good mate/buddy of mine. A Pom, he eats them on the spot :) when ever he ever comes across them "Sick". Enjoy.
