quite recently  i on behalf of a mate bid on abird from scotland  through elimar

elimar dealt with with the carriage , anyway after waiting an eternity and hearing nothing i rang said courier to enquire about delivery  this was tues ,reply was picking following day wednesday  great i thought ,so i rang on thursday to ask what time they would be delivering ,reply was oh were picking up today thurs ,ok fair enough .

didn,t expect bird to be with me friday , i thought mon or tuesday ,  no chance , nothing so irang again on wednesday to see what was going on , the reply was and i quote  dont know whats happening cant find paper work , and ther ,s no one in transport office ,so i rang elimar to see if he could get any sense fromthem  , phone call alittle later to say were delivering next day thurs late afternoon . 7pm knock on door to say bird had escaped and had dropped out bottom of box as ther had,nt been any card board put in , this apparently was some way down my own street , went to wrong address, bloody marvelous ,

so the upshot is  7 days from collection to delivery  no pigeon  and 25 quid insurance, not even enough to cover the transport costs , mistakes do happen im well aware of that

, but itcosts nothing to ring up the parties concerned offer an apology, nothing , zilch ,could nt give a sh**   its not  jamie or flyin couriers by the way

I know who it is CV

I sent them away last week as they never rang before arriving (through elimar) thankfully i did as it seems they in the same period have lost your pigeon and also another bird which i know was sold for decent money through the site.

Elimar now also use Flying courier and i now insist that Les books them instead of Coopers.

Well that's 2 instances of poor service from the aformentioned courier service then let the moderator remove them from the list of recommended couriers on this site....... why let further innocent fanciers have similar problems from this particular courier??

Well its actually three as i sent some nestboxes the other week - i Mentioned the state of the van but the fronts and half the boxes ended up being lost in transit - The only reason i never chased it up was after hearing its like getting blood from a stone.

cloudview i think i know where your bird is ive sent you a pm to phone me

Cloudview, if you did'nt arrange the carraige then you are entitled to a full refund, despite what the seller says. You have never received the goods and therefore the seller is in breach of contract.

Also i think i know wha couriers you are talking about. I had an issue with them over insurance when i sold all my birds. i was going to get them to bring the UK dstined ones over, but they told me they get them out of the box and put them in cages when they cannot deliver overnight. I told them these birds were worth £000's and not just a few quid, so would want it in writing that should anything happen to them while in there care i'd want to be fully compensated. I'm still awaiting their reply!!!

Frank, its a tough one this as tho the site is'nt rally liable under consumer rights (as it is based as a private sale via yourself), the problem is the site actually takes the payment and arranges the delivery as in this case, so in effect become the "sellers agent". If it was me i would write a strongly worded letter to the agent and to the couriers, and outline my dispute and what i believe they should do.  In this case it would be as the agent "employed " the courier he should seek appropriate compensation from them.

Of course you'd also state that this dispute not being slanderous could be made public and may well tarnish the agents credit.

point taken mick i think its a bit early for that stance just now but cant rule that out but maybe the buyer might think about that right now thats up to him i just feel for the guy that paid good money and got something else i will try to help him out as much as i can

good news for me  at last but not to other party involved ,

my bird was sent to wrong address , the one that supposely got out was this fanciers bird

i really feel for him , because i know exactly how he feels

so aright cock up all round , we now know that the bird he bought could be anywhere now
