cut tail feathers

Jack had a fantail show bird given to him with a BIG full tail  

the guy who give it to him cut 6 tail feathers each side to aid breeding

now the birds are in moult but the 12 tail feathers are still there

should I

A put the 12 cut tail feathers

B leave them a long

if left a lone will they fallout and new ones grow
