Apart from the fact that door frame part came apart!  My woodwork skills aren't brilliant, but certainly not beyond me.  Need to shift a conifer to get the slabs down.  But as you say, it's certainly not much work.

After a pretty awful day at work, I got home, let my massive team of birds out (2, LOL) and watched them have a fly around.  Then swept out the shed, got "Kitchen" and his baby back in, and relaxed with a glass of pear cider, reading a pigeon novel on the garden bench outside the shed, and looking at the two of them sunning themselves in their Sputnik.  I've just been thinking what a pleasant day to spend a mid July evening :-)

My bad day has drifted away - and I only had the one cider so it's not that!

Was that novel "Pigeon in my kitchen" by any chance :o) Glad to hear you're over the loss and now enjoying the simpler things in life. Some people can't understand us doo men getting pleasure from watching our birds but I feel sorry for them because they are missing out. You must feel good at what you have achieved over the last few months and all your emotions have been working overtime. I think that is the attraction really, the birds make you feel alive. That youngster is a cracker by the way and I hope you will do it justice by getting it racing next year. I havn't got the time to put in at racing so just enjoying my tumblers. Time fly's when your having fun, don't it. Bye the way it's nearly August (evil)

Wishing you loads more fun as you surely deserve it. These doos are in good hands.

Yes, 'Pigeon in my kitchen' nearly was a novel wasn't it!  This evening, we were looking at the top shelf in our kitchen and remembering that Blue Boy/Bluey adopted that a few months ago.  We had to clear the whole area - not that there was much room in the kitchen with his temporary home - a hutch!!!  What a difference now in his shed, going in and out every afternoon with his baby!  I've learnt so much, thanks to people on Pigeonbasics, and am hooked.  I'll never look back.

Thanks for your very kind words, Freebird.

You may not be too off the mark, Phil.  Time will tell ;D
How about a photo of yourself? It seems to me that Lycett,  re-doffed a wags  wig, and is pulling the strings! lol.

I realy do hope a story is written about this experience as it would be some of the best publicity the sport will have even received!

Phil

I totally agree. Surely someone on this sight has the skills/time to put this down in print. For me it is a nostalgic trip to when I was a nipper and got into the doos via STRAGS as we used to call them. In those days there were no such things as computers so everything was local. This is a great site and this story just reflects the feelings we all have for the birds. If it is put to paper the emphasis should be on the members of this sight because without their encouragement ( I’m not demising David in any way here ) there would be no story. Bird, David, Pigeonbasics.

Bath time - pic taken because they (Blue Boy and Junior) looked so content, and also it's the first bit of sun I've seen in days (taken yesterday evening).

I could just jump in there with them they look so contented. Bet that makes you feel good David. To think they could have ended up squating in some dingie hole. Take a bow, you deserve it mate.
